Pump prices of petroleum products up for 3rd straight week Tuesday


Oil firms on Monday announced another round of hikes on pump prices of petroleum products, marking the third consecutive week of increases.

In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Flying V, Petron Corp., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. and Seaoil Philippines Inc. said it they will increase prices per liter of gasoline by P0.20, diesel by P0.35, and kerosene by P0.35.

Petro Gazz, PTT Philippines Corp. will apply the same adjustments, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.

Meanwhile, Cleanfuel and Unioil Petroleum Philippines Inc. will implement the same changes for diesel, while keeping gasoline prices unchanged. It does They do not carry kerosene.

The changes will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, for the firms except for Cleanfuel, which will adjust prices at 4:01 p.m., and Caltex at 12:01 a.m. the same day.

Other firms have yet to make similar announcements.

Latest data available from the Department of Energy (DOE) shows that year-to-date adjustments stand at a net increase of P7.60 per liter for gasoline, P5.70 per liter for diesel, and P4.95 per liter for kerosene as of April 27, 2021. —Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/KBK, GMA News
