Fuel price rollback seen next week

Another round of rollback in the pump prices of petroleum products will greet customers in the coming week, according to projections by Unioil Petroleum Philippines.

In its fuel price forecast for August 24 to 30 trading week, Unioil said the price per liter of diesel may go down by P0.70 to P0.75.

Gasoline prices, meanwhile, may decline between P0.90 and P1.00 per liter.

Oil companies usually announce price adjustments every Monday to be implemented in the morning of the following day.

Effective August 17, fuel firms implemented a price cut of P0.30 per liter for diesel while gasoline price remained unchanged.

Gasoline prices range from P46.75 to P61.60 per liter while diesel prices range between P37.65 and P47.35 per liter.

Year-to-date adjustments stand at a net increase of P10.10 per liter for diesel and gasoline at a total net increase of P13.25 per liter. —Ted Cordero/LBG, GMA News
