LPG prices up in September for third straight month

Households will have to pay more for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in September, as firms announced another round of hikes to mark three straight months of increases.

In an advisory, Petron Corp. said it will hike LPG prices by P0.65 per kilogram, and AutoLPG prices by P0.36 per kilogram starting 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, September 1.

Solane will also hike its LPG by P0.64 per kilogram, effective 6 a.m. the same day.

Other firms have yet to make similar announcements.

Latest data available from the Department of Energy (DOE) indicate that household LPG prices in Metro Manila range from P691.00 to P997.00 per 11-kilogram cylinder as of August.—LDF, GMA News
