DA warns of possible rise in vegetable prices due to inclement weather

The Agriculture Department warned that vegetable prices could rise given the recent inclement weather.

According to a Saturday 24 Oras Weekend report, the ill weather could adversely affect vegetable production in Benguet.

However, vegetable prices remained stable, with only cabbage prices increasing to P16-P18 per kilo from the previous P12 per kilo.

Meanwhile, seafood prices in Quezon City's Balintawak market were unaffected by the rainy weather over Metro Manila, though demand for seafood was still weak.

Likewise, the demand for pork had not improved, despite prices being pegged at P320 per kilo.

Chicken prices meanwhile rose by P20 per kilo. — DVM, GMA News
