BOC intercepts P14.7M worth of shabu, ecstasy hidden in bed sheets, home decor

The Bureau of Customs on Thursday intercepted over P14.7 million worth of illegal drugs concealed inside house decor, cartons, and bed sheets.

In a statement, the BOC said that it seized at least 300 grams of shabu with an estimated amount of P2.04 million in an outbound parcel in DHL Warehouse. It was declared as house decor or wall sticker.

The BOC said they also found another shipment bound at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) which contained ecstasy hidden inside cartons and bed sheets with a value of P8.9 million.

Meanwhile, the last shipment, which was undeclared, was found to have ecstasy with a value of P3.8 million.

The bureau said it will conduct further investigation to arrest the people behind the illegal trade for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, and RA 10863, or the Customs Modernization And Tariff Act (CMTA).
