The BOC said it worked with other government agencies and international organizations to improve border security and combat smuggling syndicates.

Customs Commissioner Bien Rubio said the agency will continue to work with the government agencies and private sectors to tighten the country’s borders.

“We will not tolerate any illegal activities that threaten our nation's welfare and security," Rubio said in a statement.

"We will remain vigilant in our efforts to combat smuggling and protect our nation's interests," he added. —NB, GMA Integrated News
