Uber wants to pay a fine instead of heeding one-month suspension
Uber Systems Inc. on Thursday asked the Land Transportation and Franchising Board (LTFRB) to let the Transport Network Company (TNC) pay a fine instead of heeding a one-month suspension.
"Uber has filed a second pleading urging the LTFRB to accept a fine rather than a suspension as a solution, to reduce the burden on the Filipino rider and the driver community," it said in an emailed statement.
In a separate tweet, GMA News' Saleema Rafran said Uber has filed a motion praying for a P10-million fine.

It then filed for a motion for reconsideration, which was reported to have been received by the LTFRB at 10:25 a.m. the same day.
But the LTFRB denied the appeal on Tuesday afternoon. — Jon Viktor Cabuenas/GMA News
