Commuters taking taxis, buses and public utility vehicles may benefit from a new petition lodged before the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Wednesday.
The LTFRB said Negros Oriental Rep. Manuel Iway lodged separate petitions before it for the reduction of fares.
In a post on its Twitter account, the LTFRB said the separate petitions sought to reduce fares for buses, taxis and utility vehicles (UVs) nationwide.

Last October, Iway filed a petititon to roll back jeepney fares, citing recent rollbacks in diesel prices.
On Dec. 11, the LTFRB provisionally allowed a P1 rollback in jeepney fares.
However, a transport group has contested the provisional rollback unless the LTFRB comes out with a new matrix. — Joel Locsin/VC, GMA News
