PBGen. Antonio Yarra assumes post as new QCPD Director

Police Brigadier General Antonio Candido Yarra has assumed his post as the new Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director following a Change of Command Ceremony at Camp Karingal on Thursday.

Yarra replaced Police Brigadier General Danilo Pepino Macerin, who will retire in June 2021.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Police Major General Vicente Danao Jr, presided over the ceremony where Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte served as Guest of Honor and Speaker.

Yarra was then the Deputy Regional Director for Administration of the NCRPO before assuming his post as the new QCPD Director.

Yarra belongs to the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class of 1991, and was previously assigned various commands where he held key positions.

“The public deserves no less than the best. Hence, I would like to emphasize that we, Police Officers, must know our job and perform it well,” Yarra said in his message.

“Under my stewardship, expect everyone to continue and make a positive contribution to the legacy of public service in this city as established by our predecessors. We must take our job seriously amidst the global health crisis, as we face an unprecedented enemy aside from the ones that we are already well aware of,” Yarra added. —Jamil Santos/LBG, GMA News
