'Bourne Legacy' to shoot on EDSA in Pasay, some roads closed

Some roads in Pasay City, including a part of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA), were closed to traffic early Friday for the shooting of the upcoming spy thriller "The Bourne Legacy."

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority closed off the roads starting 5 a.m., according to a report by radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen.

Posts on the MMDA's Twitter account said the closed roads included:

  • Zamora from EDSA to Protacio
  • one outer lane of EDSA southbound from Tramo to Taft Avenue

The dzBB report said the shooting was to take place until noon.

It said traffic aides along EDSA looked serious even as the cast and crew of the film prepared to shoot scenes there.

However, many motorists were irate as they were not informed of the closure of some of the roads in the area, the report said.

On the other hand, the report quoted some jeep drivers as saying they welcomed the development as some of them would be taken as extras.

One jeep driver said this would be the second time he was taken as an extra. He said he earned P1,000 the last time he was taken as an extra in the film.

“The Bourne Legacy” is a Hollywood film, the fourth installment in the franchise. It stars Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz.

Filming will continue in other areas of Metro Manila until February. –KG, GMA News
