Fire razes Marikina market, P5-M destroyed


At least P5 million in property was destroyed in a fire that razed a market in Marikina City shortly before midnight Monday.
 
No one was initially reported injured in the fire that hit the public market in Concepcion I village in Marikina City, radio dzBB reported Tuesday.
 
Marikina fire marshal Superintendent Marcos Valen said the fire started at the dry goods section of the market at 10:50 p.m.
 
It reached Task Force Alpha before it was placed under control at 12:33 a.m. Tuesday.
 
Arson investigators are still determining what caused the fire. –KG, GMA News
