Vehicle believed used in killing of DOJ chief's aide recovered in Parañaque

 

The silver Mitsubishi Adventure-type AUV (TXO-215) was recovered in San Antonio village, radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported Wednesday.

 

National Bureau of Investigation agents have also joined the investigation, the same report said.

 

Investigators were quoted as saying the vehicle had been used by the "UVX Tirador Gang," a band of robbers whose members were arrested in Parañaque City over the weekend.

 

The gang reportedly operates by making the vehicle appear to be an "FX taxi," then robbing passengers who board it.

 

Police believe one of the gang's victims was Alister Quintos, a security aide of Dde Lima, the report added. Quintos' body was recovered in Bulacan by members of the San Ildefonso police. A police report said a spent shell, which could have been used in the killing of Quintos, was recovered inside the vehicle. 

 

They theorize the AUVs belong to people who rented them out to the robbers and may not be aware their vehicles were used in holdups and robberies. — RSJ, GMA News
