Bus terminal managers brace for Holy Week exodus peak

Metro Manila bus terminal manager are bracing for the Holy Week exodus peak, expected to begin Wednesday noon, as Filipinos knocking off from work during the holidays scramble for trips to the provinces. Some bus companies advised passengers to travel as early as possible, preferably before Wednesday noon, to avoid the long queuing for bus tickets. "Mahaba po starting 11 a.m. so try to travel as early as you can tomorrow. Pasay/Cubao are open 24/7," Victory Liner Inc. said on its Twitter account Tuesday night.

It added that all its trips from its Kamias terminal for Wednesday are full, and advised passengers to "travel on Thursday instead." A report on dzBB radio early Wednesday said bus terminal managers expect the bulk of province-bound Filipinos to show up Wednesday afternoon, as many are likely to take the afternoon off. The report also said most of the morning trips are heading for the Visayas, while those in the afternoon are headed for Bicol. — DVM, GMA News
