DPWH to use coming long weekend for repair, reblocking work on 11 roads


The Department of Public Works and Highways will take advantage of the coming long weekend to conduct repair and reblocking on 11 roads in Metro Manila.
 
In an advisory, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said motorists should try to avoid the 11 roads from 1 a.m. of Oct. 26, Saturday, to 5 a.m. of Oct. 29, Tuesday.
 
"Motorists are advised to use alternate routes. All roads will be fully passable by Tuesday morning," it said.

The coming long weekend is due to the barangay elections on Oct. 28, Monday.
 
The MMDA said the 11 roads that will undergo reblocking are in five cities. They include:
 
Pasay City:
 
  • EDSA between Estanislao Street and C. Jose Street (northbound)
 
Quezon City:
 
  • EDSA between Kaingin Road and Dario Bridge I (southbound, second lane)
  • EDSA between Gate 4 and Gate 3, (northbound, second lane)
  • EDSA between Ermin Garcia and New York Street (southbound, second lane)
  • Araneta Avenue between Palanza Street and Bayani (northbound)
  • C.P. Garcia Avenue between Magiting Street and University Avenue (first lane from sidewalk going to University Avenue)
 
Mandaluyong City:
 
  • EDSA between Reliance Street and Libertad Street (northbound)
  • EDSA between Boni Avenue and Mayon Street (southbound)
 
Makati City:
 
  • EDSA between McKinley Forbes and Guadalupe Bridge (southbound, fourth and fifth lanes)
  • EDSA between Guadalupe Bridge and South Drive (southbound, fourth and fifth lanes)
 
Caloocan City:
 
  • EDSA between Evangelista and Mascardo Street before and after T. Sora Street lane 5 after Malvar Street (lane 5 northbound)
