LTFRB: Jeeps entering NCR from provinces covered by P1 jeep fare rollback

Passenger jeeps with routes between the provinces and Metro Manila are covered by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board's P1 provisional decrease for jeep fares.

 

LTFRB executive director Robert Cabrera III also stressed in a radio interview Friday that there is no need for a fare matrix for the rollback.

 

"Ang order kasama coming from the provinces going inside Metro Manila. (For example), from Cavite, inter-regional sa Metro Manila, kasama sa P1 rollback pag pumasok," Cabrera said in an interview on dzBB radio.

 

On Thursday, the LTFRB allowed a P1 provisional decrease in minimum jeepney fares in Metro Manila.

 

Cabrera also said they have given orders to the LTFRB regional units to submit opinions on whether there is a need to similarly roll back fares.

 

No need for fare matrix

 

Meanwhile, Cabrera said they have talked to jeep operators Thursday night and informed them about the provisional decrease.

 

"We're starting today, tuluy-tuloy na ito," he said.

 

"No need for fare matrix. 'Yung iba gagawing dahilan (na wala silang kopya nito). Sinabi na namin sa media, we don't need that. Dapat ipatupad agad 'yan," he added. —Joel Locsin/KG, GMA News
