Murder charges filed vs. Ergo Cha milk tea shop owner’s son

The Manila Police District said murder and frustrated charges have been filed against the son of the Ergo Cha milk tea shop owner following last month's poisoning incident that killed two people, including the suspect's father, William Abrigo.

A report on GMA News' Unang Balita on Monday quoted the MPD as saying that Lloyd Abrigo is now facing two counts of murder and frustrated murder, filed before the Manila Prosecutor's Office.

A separate tweet from dzBB said MPD has declared the case closed.

The younger Abrigo, whom a shop assistant implicated in the incident, earlier denied allegations that he brought a foul-smelling liquid into the store before the incident.

His father and customer Suzaine Dagohoy died after drinking milk tea prepared at the shop in Sampaloc, Manila. Dagohoy's boyfriend, Arnold Aydalla, had to be rushed to the hospital as well.

Lloyd, together with his mother, said they believe what happened was a case of sabotage. — Rose-An Jessica Dioquino/RSJ, GMA News
