Bus plows through orange barrier, scatters segments on EDSA

A wayward bus sideswiped the orange barriers on EDSA causing several segments to fly and be scattered on the national highway, a Facebook post showed on Monday.

The video submitted by netizen Ian Santos to Top Gear Philippines showed a Joanna Jesh bus moving out of the bus lane to hit the barriers that separated private vehicles from buses.

According to Santos, "the bus did not stop until forced to, a few meters down the road."

He added, "Luckily, no vehicles were damaged, no person was hurt, and no further accidents were caused by these idiotic drivers racing each other."

The Highway Patrol Group is helping the Metro Manila Development Authority investigate the incident.

"We are helping MMDA investigate the case. The MMDA is now reviewing the CCTV (footage). Kapag may mga damages sa barrier, MMDA concern kasi MMDA property," HPG director Chief Superintendent Arnold Gunnacao told GMA News Online.

"They have their own investigation and sinisingil po nila kapag identified na ang may kagagawan," he added. -Aya Tantiangco/NB, GMA News
