Ex-police official’s wife and daughter die in Quezon City fire

A retired police official's wife and daughter died after fire struck their home in Quezon City, Monday morning.

The fire at the house of retired Chief Superintendent Ismael Rafanan in Capitol Estate II subdivision in Barangay Batasan Hills, started at around 7:30 a.m.

After the fire was put out shortly after 8 a.m., firefighters discovered the burnt bodies of Rafanan's wife Merilyn, 69 and daughter Stharra, 27.

Reports said an explosion was heard from Rafanan's home before the fire broke out.
