30 hurt in EDSA multiple-vehicle collision

Some 30 people were hurt in a road accident on EDSA northbound corner Ayala Avenue in Makati City involving multiple vehicles, a report on Balita Pilipinas said Monday.

The report, citing the police, said a passenger bus of Pascual Liner smashed into a concrete barrier with parts of it hitting a parked motorcycle nearby.

The incident caused a domino effect on the vehicles in front, as the bus rammed into a taxi cab, which then hit a closed van.

The bus hit two other buses as well, the report said.

The driver of the Pascual Liner bus sustained the worst injury with his feet being stuck between the vehicles involved in the commotion.

The bus company has yet to issue a statement.

Meanwhile, the multiple collision caused a traffic build-up along EDSA Ayala extending to Magallanes. —Kiersnerr Gerwin Tacadena/KBK, GMA News
