A police commander was sacked from his post after a drug den was discovered just "below" a police community precinct in Binondo, Manila on Wednesday.
The sacked official was identified as Chief Inspector Luis Guisic, chief of the Police Community Precinct (PCP) along Juan Luna Street in Binondo.
Guisic was sacked on the spot by Superintendent Amante Daro, chief of the Binondo police, following the discovery of a drug den below a bridge, near the PCP.
Daro said Guisic should have discovered the drug den because of its proximity from the PCP.
Several drug paraphernalia were discovered at the drug den.
The drug den was discovered during a clearing operation of informal settlers under the bridge.
Guisic said that he failed to discover the existence of the drug den because it was covered by several stores. —report from Mark Salazar/ALG, GMA News
