Man with club feet shot dead after being taunted to run

Luzviminda Siapo, an overseas Filipino worker in Kuwait, on Monday came home to search for answers. Upon learning that her son Raymart had been killed, the grief-stricken mother pleaded to her employers and begged them to let her go home.

The police had little information to share with Siapo. According to reports, unknown men abducted her son at around 11 p.m. at North Bay Boulevard South in Navotas in late March. Two sachets of shabu were found on his lifeless body.

GMA News' Howie Severino on Saturday provided additional details on the incident.

"Witnesses say he was last seen at night being brought by motorcycle to a nearby bridge, and being told to get down," Severino wrote. "'Takbo, takbo!' his captors taunted. Raymart, who was supposed to start a new job the next day, didn't run and just sat down. One of the assassins, called a "birador" by the police, shot him below the chin and on the side of his head."

Raymart, 19, was born with two club feet. Because his feet were twisted and could not be placed flat on the ground, he was unable to run.

Siapo, investigating on her own, learned that Raymart had an altercation with the neighbors. Shortly after, his name appeared on the list of drug suspects in a community blotter.

The last message Siapo received from her son was "salamat ma," followed by a smiling selfie.

The grieving mother is hoping that her son's murderers will be brought to justice. — Aya Tantiangco/BM, GMA News
