Gunmen 'dressed as police officers' kill 3 in Makati


Motorcycle-riding gunmen reportedly dressed as police officers killed three people in Makati City, early Tuesday.

The victims were identified as 32-year-old parking attendant Reynante Gutierrez,  38-year-old construction worker Noriel Camposano, and former jeepney driver Robert Tuso.

The incident happened at past midnight along Sunrise Street in Barangay La Paz.

According to Police Community Precinct 2 commander Senior Inspector Valmark Funelas, the victims were just standing on the street when four gunmen on two motorcycles roared up and opened fire.

Police investigators recovered 16 shell casings and a 9mm pistol slug from the crime scene.

Funelas added that Gutierrez and Camposano had surrendered under the government's Oplan Tokhang. Gutierrez had also been jailed over of a gambling charge and was just recently released.

Meanwhile, a witness said the gunmen were dressed as police officers, though they had covered their faces.

While the Makati police force was continuing its investigation into the killings, they would not comment on the witness' claims. — ALG, GMA News
