CCTV footage shows suspect in killing of 13-year-old in Pasay City

CCTV footage from Barangay 104 showed the alleged suspect in the killing of 13-year-old Jayross Brondial riding his motorcycle away from the victim's home in Pasay City on Sunday afternoon.

He had a black helmet and jacket on as he fled on his red motorcycle, according to an exclusive report by Bam Alegre on Unang Balita on Monday.

Brondial was sitting outside his home at around 2 p.m. when the unidentified suspect drove up and opened fire.

While cameras were unable to catch the actual shooting on tape, it managed to capture the last moments of Brondial, who managed to get his infant cousin out of harm's way before he was shot to death.

Brondial's neighbors believe he was mistaken for a drug personality who lived on their street and who wore a similar pair of dark blue shorts and hat.

A cousin of the drug personality confirmed that their relative used and pushed illegal drugs and confirmed that they went into hiding after the fatal shooting.

Other witnesses said the suspect jammed his gun while shooting Brondial multiple times.

Brondial's wake will begin on Monday afternoon.

According to a succeeding report by Alegre on Balitanghali on Monday, Brondial's mother Rossana said her son was in Grade 6.

"Papasok pa naman sana ngayon 'yan. Grade 6 lang 'yan eh. Wala na. Patay na," she said.

Jayross is her second son who died this year. In February, her other son died after allegedly staging a robbery.

Pasay City Police recovered six empty shells of ammunition at the crime scene on Sunday.

Authorities are still investigating to determine the motive for the crime. —Rie Takumi/KG/KVD, GMA News
