Suspected American pedophile arrested at NAIA

Immigration and police operatives recently arrested a suspected American pedophile who was supposed to meet in Manila with minor children in order to have sex with them.

Robin Hoyt Alderman had just arrived aboard a Philippine Airlines flight from Ho Chi Minh City on October 19 when he was intercepted by authorities at the immigration arrival area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 in Pasay City.

Elements from the Philippine National Police-Women and Children Protection Center then took the 58-year-old Alderman into custody and brought him to Camp Crame to undergo investigation.

It was the United States Embassy that tipped the BI about Alderman’s trip to Manila and his intention to meet with minors whom he had contacted via the Internet while he was abroad, according to Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente.

“His conversations with the would-be victims allegedly suggested that Alderman was going to meet them when he comes here and have sexual intercourse with them,” Morente said.

BI acting spokesman Grifton Medina said that aside from being criminally charged in court, Alderman will be subjected to deportation proceedings for being an undesirable alien.

However, Medina said Alderman will only be deported if the charges against him are dropped or if he has already served his sentence, if convicted. —KG, GMA News
