Two men arrested in QC for allegedly dealing shabu worth up to P1M

Two men were arrested in Quezon City for allegedly selling and possessing more than 10 plastic packets of shabu worth up to P1 million, GMA News' Cesar Apolinario reported on Balitanghali Friday.

Of the amount, 200 grams or P50,000 worth of shabu reportedly belonged to suspect Reginald Cadag, alias Reggie, who fell to authorities while his fellow suspect Bawi Sarip was nabbed in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pasong Putik, Novaliches.

Sarip, Cadag’s alleged transaction partner, was arrested after being caught selling drugs to a police officer posing as a buyer. Sarip ran from cops upon apprehension but was quickly cornered.

His attempted evasion earned him a charge of resisting arrest on top of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, which Cadag also faces. No bail was recommended.

The two suspects pointed fingers at each other as regards the ownership of the drugs.

“Di sa'kin naman sir nakuha lahat yan eh," Cadag said, while Sarip denied working with the former. "Siya ang meron n'un," Sarip said.

Quezon City Police District head Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar said the two have been involved with drug-dealing groups.

“Napasama sa mga grupo na involved sa droga...it seems na meron silang mga kasamahan din na nagbibigay ng—na nagdidikta sa kanila,” he said.

Meanwhile, Senior Inspector Dennis Francisco, chief of QCPD Station 4’s Drug Enforcement Unit and Intelligence said Cadag and Sarip may have contacts in Caloocan, Bulacan, and Rizal. — Nicole-Anne C. Lagrimas/RSJ, GMA News
