Celebrity doc Joel Mendez nabbed for rape, attempted rape raps

Celebrity doctor Joel Mendez was arrested on rape and attempted rape charges on Thursday night.

According to the Eastern Police District, Mendez was arrested at the basement parking lot of the BSA Twin Towers in Mandaluyong City.

Mendez was reportedly served a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Imelda Saulog of the Mandaluyong Regional Trial Court Branch 214.

He was placed under the custody of the Mandaluyong police station.

Mendez was the subject of surveillance and stakeout operations for several months before his arrest, according to the EPD.

According to a report on QRT, Mendez was arrested for two counts of rape and one count of attempted rape involving a minor in 2016.

Mendez has been able to post bail and has been released.

Bail was set at P120,000 for each of the two counts of rape and P120,000 for the single count of attempted rape.
