Manila North Cemetery readying for Undas; last cleanup day is Oct. 29

With All Saints' Day (Undas) just a week away, the management of Manila North Cemetery issued guidelines for visitors intending to visit their loved ones, according to a report by Cecille Villarosa on GMA News' Unang Balita on Monday.

The last day for cleaning and painting of tombstones is on Monday, October 29.

No burials will be allowed from October 30 to November 2.

Vehicles will also not be allowed to enter the cemetery from October 30 to November 2.

On November 1, Gates 2 and 3 along A. Bonifacio Avenue will be open starting 10 a.m. but this will only be for those exiting the cemetery.

Management also reminded visitors that these items are not allowed to be brought inside Manila North Cemetery: sharp objects such as knives, screwdrivers, ice picks; pets; sound system; flammable materials such as lighter, thinner, alcohol, and gas; alcoholic drinks; and gambling equipment.

Burning of garbage will also be prohibited.

Management is currently also coordinating with police and volunteer groups for security and medical services.
