Classes, work in city offices in Manila suspended over Xi visit on Nov. 20, 2018

Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada has suspended classes in Manila and work in city government offices on Tuesday, November 20, due to the state visit of  China's President Xi Jinping.

This developed after Estrada, also a former President, issued Executive Order 41 on Friday night, November 16.

President Xi's itinerary include a visit to Malacañan Palace where Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte is residing and a wreath laying ceremony in the monument of the country's national hero, Jose Rizal, in Luneta Park. Both venues are located in Manila, the country's capital.

Estrada also cited that it was the Manila Police District which recommended the suspension of classes and work coinciding with Xi's visit. — Llanesca T. Panti/MDM, GMA News
