Estrella-Pantaleon bridge reconstruction schedule not yet final — MMDA

The reconstruction work on the Estrella-Pantaleon bridge has been moved again with the date of closure moved to another week, according to the report of Darlene Cay on Unang Balita.

There was an earlier announcement that the bridge will be closed on Saturday, January 12. However, this was moved to next Saturday, January 19.

The bridge, which connects Rockwell in Makati City and Mandaluyong City will be expanded from two lanes to four lanes.

The bridge was closed for two days in September 2018 because according to a letter by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the closure order is suspended after hearing the sentiments of both motorists and owners of businesses.

In an interview, MMDA Asst. Secretary Celine Pialago said there may still be a change in the schedule on Friday.

Pialago said a meeting between DPWH and MMDA officials is set on Friday to discuss the reconstruction project and to come up with a final date for it to commence. — BAP, GMA News
