16-year-old allegedly gang-raped by six drinking companions

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by six men who were her drinking mates in Tondo, Manila, according to a report by Vonne Aquino on GMA News' Unang Balita on Wednesday.

Three of the six suspects who allegedly raped the girl were arrested early Tuesday morning.

The victim said she was invited by her best friend, Paul Cedrick, to drink liquor at his house.

After several shots, however, the girl felt dizzy and lost consciousness. When she came to, she said she saw that she was being raped by Angelito Gonzales.

Another suspect, Prince Jomari Diwa, was allegedly just watching as she was being raped by Gonzales.

At the time she was fully awake, she was able to go home and tell her parents what happened.

The victim's mother said her daughter was weak, salivating and had difficulty walking.

The victim and her relatives reported the incident to the police, who in turn arrested 18-year-old Paul Cedrick Diwa, 20-year-old Prince Jomari Diwa, and 25-year-old Angelito Gonzales.

The suspects denied raping the girl.

Gonzales, however, admitted to having intercourse with the victim, but he said he was not the first to do it. There were two others who entered the room where they brought the victim.

The police said the suspects may have laced the victim's drink, which caused her to lose consciousness.

The three suspects will face the charge of rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

The police are still searching for the three other suspects named in the complaint. — BAP/KG, GMA News
