Woman in Pasig hit-and-run incident dies after being in coma

The woman who was comatose after a hit-and-run incident in Pasig City earlier this week has died, according to a relative's post on Facebook.

Rossana Ugto died days after she was hospitalized following the incident along Marcos Highway in Pasig City.

Ugto and her live-in partner Mark Joseph Belen were on a motorcycle on Tuesday after the latter picked up the former from work when a car overtook their vehicle. However, the car then swerved and hit the rear end of the motorcycle.

The two victims were left lying on the ground as the suspect fled.

Belen suffered a fractured leg.

On Saturday, the driver of the said car, Adrian Russel King Carlos, surrendered to authorities.

He also promised to pay for the hospital and funeral expenses of the victims.

Carlos denied he was on drugs or was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
