Nude photos of college students shared via group chat, online drive

After the issue on lewd photos stirred scholars at a high school, a report on GMA News and Public Affairs online newscast "Stand for Truth" by Eduard Faraon explores a similar case among students of a private university.

Nude photos of University of Santo Tomas (UST) students were reportedly being shared on a daily basis via group chat and with the use of Google Drive.

A screenshot of a drive shows photos of students organized in folders labelled per city and by college.

An anonymous user also posted an alleged conversation between engineering students and professors involved.

"Parang binaboy-baboy po tapos parang pinagpi-piyestahan naman po ako," said "Andrea," a female student who was among the victims.

"Malalaman ko pa po sa isang viral na tweet 'yon na marami na pong nakakaalam. Sobrang sakit lang po talaga," she added.

Andrea said that sanctions should be imposed on those who spread the leaked photos.

"I just want them to get the appropriate sanction. Makaka-graduate pa rin daw po 'yung mga iba, and I just don't feel like they deserve to graduate pa rin after all they said and after all they've done."

Alarmed by the reports, the Gabriela Women's Party urged victims of the alleged sharing scheme to come forward and take a stand.

"We were alarmed na to hear this news na maraming mga cases of sexual harassment sa mga universities," Gabriela information officer Sheryl Alapad said.

"Mahalaga yung magsimula doon sa mga biktima, na magsimula na magsalita sila tungkol sa issue na ito," she added. — Margaret Claire Layug/BAP, GMA News
