Three suspects were killed during a Sunday shoot out with Manila Police District (MPD) law-enforcement officers during a Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) in Manila's Baseco Compound, Super Radyo dzBB's Luisito Santos reported
According to MPD Director Police Brigadier General Vicente Danao Jr., the suspects attempted to evade police officers who were performing door-to-door inspections in the compound.
There was an exchange of gunfire and two suspects were killed at the Aplaya section of the compound. The third suspect was shot and killed in the Parola Compound.
A police officer was also injured after being shot in the arm.
A total of 700 individuals were taken into custody during the operation for different violations. Among them were twenty-one suspects who were arrested for illegal drugs.
Some P340,000-worth of illegal drugs, eight video karera machines, guns, and a grenade were among the items seized.
Danao said that the police operation was prompted by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno's order that the Baseco Compound be cleared of illegal activities. — DVM, GMA News
