Police crowd estimate in Manila North Cemetery hits half a million

The number of people who visited Manila North Cemetery on All Saints' Day has already reached half a million as of 1:30 p.m., according to the Manila Police District.

Over 3,000 flammable materials and almost 80 bladed weapons have been confiscated from the entering crowd.

Drizzles were experienced earlier but the arrival of the visitors were unabated.

According to MPD District Director Police Brigadier General Bernabe Balba, the crowd arrival showed an increasing trend in the past three hours.

He reminded those who will visit later in the day not to bring prohibited items as well as pets.

No security threat or any untoward incident had been reported yet—a status that the MPD wants to maintain throughout the day.

Last year, the one million mark on crowd count was reached a little after noontime.

Earlier in the day, police said this year's observation of All Saints Day at Manila North Cemetery was more orderly compared to that of the previous year.

Labas-pasok." — RSJ, GMA News
