Alleged couriers of Chinese drug suspect nabbed; P115.6M worth of shabu seized

The alleged drug couriers of the Chinese national who was arrested in Makati City on Tuesday night were nabbed by authorities in Las Piñas City, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Wednesday.

Information from PNP spokesman Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac identified the suspects as Joel Bustamante and Merwin Bustamante, both residents of Tenejeros, Malabon City.

During the follow-up drug raid at a parking lot in C5 Extension in Barangay Manuyo on Wednesday morning, police seized a total of 17 plastic packs containing suspected shabu worth P115.6 million.

The suspects and the pieces of evidence are now under the custody of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group.

The Chinese national identified as Liu Chao was nabbed by operatives from the PNP Drug Enforcement Group in an apartment in Makati City.

Some P2.522 billion worth of suspected shabu was seized during this earlier drug raid. — BM, GMA News
