Bus on EDSA Cubao southbound catches fire

A passenger bus caught fire on Monday morning along EDSA southbound in Cubao, Quezon City.

The bus was at the EDSA-P. Tuazon tunnel when the incident happened, Greg Reyes of Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Metrobase said in an interview on Dobol B sa News TV aired on GMA News TV.

The fire was immediately put out using a fire extinguisher, Reyes said.

No one was hurt in the incident, he added.

Reyes also said MMDA deployed its firetrucks but the fire was already put out when they arrived.

As of posting time, preparations are being made to have the affected bus towed away from the site. —KG, GMA News
