More than 400 passengers unloaded by MRT3 at Cubao Station

Some 450 passengers of a southbound train of the Metro Rail Transit-Line 3 (MRT3) were unloaded at the Cubao Station on Monday morning, according to a report by James Agustin on GMA News' Unang Balita.

The passengers were unloaded before 6 a.m.

MRT3 management said the incident was due to electrical failure in the motor due to worn-out electrical subcomponents.

The offloaded passengers were able to board the next train which arrived in five minutes.

As a result of the incident, the volume of passengers increased at the North Avenue Station.

Some passengers said they have been waiting for 30 minutes to an hour for an available train.

Management appealed for understanding from commuters.

As of 7 a.m. there were 15 trains operating. —KG, GMA News
