Muntinlupa cop dies of dengue

A policeman from Muntinlupa City died due to dengue, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said on Friday.

In a press statement, the NCRPO expressed condolences to the bereaved family of Police Lieutenant Alioden Mangonday, who was undergoing field training program at the Southern Police District.

“His effort towards public service is highly recognized. [The] NCRPO mourns with his family in deep sympathy for losing a valued comrade in police service,” NCRPO chief Police Major General Debold Sinas said.

The NCRPO said Mangonday died at 2:30 a.m. of February 20 while being treated at the Asian Hospital on account of dengue fever secondary to severe pneumonia.

According to Sinas, Mangonday’s death should serve as a reminder to everyone that police are also human beings who are susceptible to diseases.

“Let us be vigilant of our surroundings and always be mindful of our safety as we perform our mandate at law enforcers,” Sinas said.
