Pares vendor shot by robber dies a week after Manila holdup

The food vendor who was robbed and shot in Manila City last week has died, according to his sister.

According to Isa Avendaño-Umali's report on Super Radyo dzBB, Sydney Bautista said her brother Samson died after a major surgery at the Philippine General Hospital.

Bautista, 41, was shot in the neck at the Baseco Compound after the suspect, Alexander Ogdamina, tried but failed to take his bag even at gunpoint.

During his arrest last Wednesday, the suspect admitted using illegal drugs. 

Ogdamina earlier said the victim’s death could have been avoided if he had just handed over his bag.

Bautista’s remains have been returned to his hometown of Tiaong, Quezon.
