Greenhills takes measures against COVID-19 in light of two new cases

Greenhills Center Management assured the public on Friday that it is taking precautionary measures against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) after two new cases were confirmed in the country.

Health authorities earlier revealed that one of the cases — a 62-year-old Filipino male —  often frequented a prayer hall in Barangay Greenhills.

The other COVID-19 case is a 48-year-old Filipino male with a travel history from Japan, the Department of Health (DOH) said.

"Greenhills Mall is enacting precautionary measures to ensure the safety of our shoppers, tenants, and employees," it said in a statement.

"The mall management is coordinating and cooperating with the DOH and the City Government of San Juan," it added.

The management also urged individuals who show COVID-19 symptoms to call health authorities.

"Rest assured that the health and security of our shoppers, tenants, employees, and the public is our top priority," it said

San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora has directed the management of Greenhills to disinfect the mall to prevent the further spread of the virus.

Zamora has also ordered the immediate disinfection and temporary closure of the prayer hall.

"The Department of Health (DOH) and the City Government of San Juan are now conducting contact tracing to determine whom this patient has been in contact with since he displayed symptoms," Zamora said in a separate statement. —LDF, GMA News
