There are four cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Quezon City, Mayor Joy Belmonte confirmed on Wednesday.

Interviewed on Super Radyo dzBB, Belmonte said the fourth COVID-19 case in the city was a doctor.

“I have no details yet about case number four because I was just told about it… Nangongolekta pa rin kami ng detalye at bata pa actually e, I think in his 20s,” Belmonte said.

Belmonte said the fourth case was confirmed to her by the regional office of the Department of Health.

Meanwhile, local authorities are still tracing the contact of the city’s third confirmed COVID-19 case, also a doctor.

Patient 3 is a 52-year-old Filipino male from Project 6 with a history of travel to Switzerland.

Belmonte also belied reports that she proposed a lockdown of the city to contain the spread of COVID-19.

“Hindi ko po alam kung saan nanggaling na bigla ako raw po ay nag-propose ng lockdown. Hindi po totoo 'yun at wala po akong otoridad para mag-propose ng isang lockdown,” Belmonte said.
