The new patient reportedly has no travel history outside the country and was initially thought to have dengue when brought to a private hospital. He was diagnosed with COVID-19 after he was transferred to another hospital, the report said.

The Quezon City government has already dispatched a team to the house of the new patient to fetch him and to conduct contact tracing.

It was not yet clear if the new patient is among the 49 confirmed cases nationwide that were reported by the Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday afternoon. —KBK, GMA News
