Laguna travelers seeking a night out denied Metro Manila entry

Several travelers from Laguna were not allowed to enter a quarantined Metro Manila over the weekend, due to the lack of the necessary identification and documentation.

As seen in a report on GMA's "24 Oras Weekend" on Sunday, an SUV had to turn back to Laguna after it was found that the passengers were only heading to Alabang for a night out.

Meanwhile, a tricycle heading to Muntinlupa was also impounded after its driver was not able to present his license to authorities manning the checkpoint.

President Rodrigo Duterte last week ordered the community quarantine of Metro Manila from March 15 to April 14.

According to Laguna Police Provincial Office Provincial Director Police Colonel Serafin Petalio II, bus operators are encouraged to screen commuters in the stations for easier inspection at the checkpoints.

— Jon Viktor Cabuenas/DVM, GMA News
