OVP opens second dorm for COVID-19 frontliners in QC

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) Leni Robredo has opened a second dormitory for the health workers and other frontliners battling the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In a Facebook post, Robredo announced that it is free for use for "health workers, medical practitioners and other frontliners like security guards, and others doing frontline services related to our COVID-19 operations."

The dorm is located in Teachers Village in Quezon City, and is on a first come, first serve basis.

Robredo's office had opened its first dormitory last Wednesday in Cubao.

However, it had a long list of applicants that they couldn't accommodate, prompting them to open another one.

The OVP added that the dorm was made possible through its partnerships with the UP Law Class 1990-A, Rotary Club of San Juan Del Monte, Spouses of Rotary Club of San Juan North, and our other Angat Buhay partners.

Health workers and other frontliners have been having a hard time getting to their hospitals and homes due to the enhanced community quarantine imposed on Luzon, which suspended mass transportation beginning March 17.
