OVP to open 2 more dorms for COVID-19 frontliners in Manila

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) Leni Robredo will open two more dormitories for healthcare workers and other frontliners battling the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

One of the dorms is located in Roxas Boulevard, near Manila Doctors Hospital and the Philippine General Hospital.

The other is in Sampaloc, near Mary Chiles Hospital, Ospital ng Sampaloc, Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center, UST Hospital, and Perpetual Succor Hospital.

Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Earlier, the OVP opened two dormitories in Cubao and Teachers Village, Quezon City.

Frontliners and other essential personnel have faced challenges heading to their places of work due to the suspension of mass public transportation under the enhanced community quarantine.

The OVP also offers free shuttle service to help healthcare workers get to the hospital.

It has also raised funds to provide supplies such as protective gear and extraction kits. Currently, the OVP has partnered with designers to mass produce personal protective equipment (PPEs) for hospital staff. --MGP, GMA News
