DOH reports 42 new COVID-19 cases in Quezon City, total now 625

The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday reported that there are 42 new cases of confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Quezon City, bringing the total to 625.

The total number of confirmed cases with complete addresses in Quezon City is now at 563 while 550 cases have been validated by the QC Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and District Health Offices.

For the third day in a row, there are no new deaths reported, so the total remains at 34.

There are at least 11 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries in the city to 26 cases.

Two barangays were added to the list of villages under the Extreme Enhanced Community Quarantine (EECQ), these are Commonwealth and Pansol.

As of the 7th of April, there are 31 barangays under the EECQ imposed by the city government.

The barangays with the most number of cases (with complete addresses) per district are:

  • District 1 (115 patients): Bahay Toro - 16
  • District 2 (59 patients): Batasan Hills - 27; Holy Spirit - 12
  • District 3 (107 patients): Matandang Balara - 25
  • District 4 (146 patients): Bagong Lipunan ng Crame - 14; Pinyahan - 11; South Triangle - 12; Tatalon - 10
  • District 5 (47 patients): Novaliches Proper - 8; Fairview - 9; San Bartolome - 7
  • District 6 (76 patients): Tandang Sora - 17; Culiat - 19; Pasong Tamo -15; New Era - 10

Meanwhile, the QC Small Business and Cooperatives Development Promotions Office (SBCDPO) has launched the Buy, Gulay Online! Initiative under the Fresh Market on Wheels program to address the need of communities for fresh commodities such as fruits and vegetables.

Residents can now produce through their respective barangay captains or homeowners association who will then coordinate the requested supply to the promotions office. -- BAP, GMA News
