DOH yet to inspect Marikina's completed COVID-19 testing lab

The Department of Health has yet to inspect Marikina's testing center for COVID-19 even after it has been completed.

According to Maki Pulido's report on "24 Iras", a team from the DOH was supposed to inspect the facility on Monday two weeks after the department found the city's first laboratory not up to par.

The launch of Marikina’s COVID-19 testing center was previously deferred after the DOH said it failed to meet bio-safety standards.

The first laboratory was on the sixth floor of a local government facility.

The city government has since picked another spot that will exclusively be for the laboratory and the treatment of COVID-19 patients.

The two-storey building is on Bayan-Bayanan Avenue in Barangay Concepcion Uno.

Earlier, the city government also announced it will make the COVID-19 testing free for its residents. -Ma. Angelica Garcia/NB, GMA News
