Pasay Public Crematorium sees increase in cremations

The Pasay Public Crematorium noted that there was a sudden increase in cremations since last week, with 11 bodies processed as of Sunday.

According to a 24 Oras report by Marisol Abdurahman on Monday, three of the 11 bodies cremated were suspected COVID-19 cases from Pasay, while others were suspected cases from other cities.

“‘Yung iba ring kamag-anakan ng ibang city ay nakikiusap din po sa’min kaya kung kaya naman po ng Pasay, ine-extend din po namin ang aming services,” Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said.

The mayor added that the local government had formulated a plan to borrow or purchase mobile freezers in case there was a spike in deaths.

Pasay had recorded 114 COVID-19 cases with three deaths and six recoveries as of Monday afternoon, according to the Department of Health’s online tracker. — Julia Mari Ornedo/DVM, GMA News
