Quezon City gov't reports 32 new COVID-19 cases


The Quezon City government reports on Friday that there are 32 new cases of persons who tested positive for the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), based on information from the Department of Health bringing the total to 1,104 cases.

As of April 24, 2020 there are 956 cases with complete addresses in Quezon City while there are 788 cases validated by the QC Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and District Health Offices.

There are, so far, 549 active COVID-19 cases in the city.

The city government also reported that there are 12 new recoveries, bringing the total to 133.

But there were also three reported new deaths that brings the death toll to 106 cases.

Quarantine facility

The HOPE 1 quarantine facility has 1 available room for use of COVID-19 confirmed or suspected patients as  40 COVID-19 cases are currently in quarantine.

At the HOPE 2 facility, 132 rooms/beds are used by confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients while 177 beds are available for use.

Community-based testing

A total of 116 swab tests were conducted in the city’s community-based testing centers, local government hospitals and by the QCESU.

Quarantine violators

As of  5 p.m. on April 24, 2020, 60 residents were apprehended for violating the enhanced community quarantine protocols. -- BAP, GMA News
