Nearly 300 NHQ personnel to aid NCRPO’s RMFB in manning quarantine control points

Nearly 300 forces from the National Standby Support Force (NSSF) will help personnel of the National Capital Region Police Office Regional Mobile Force Battalion in implementing and manning quarantine control points across Metro Manila.

According to the NCRPO on Monday, a turnover ceremony was held at the grandstand of the NCRPO headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City on Sunday.

The NCRPO said the 294 police officers from the national headquarters are all in good physical and mental condition and are prepared to augment the NCRPO's mobile force battalion.

"These 294-strong members of the NSSF from the NHQ will aid our deployment of personnel from the District Mobile Force Battalion to different QCPs regionwide. Our men have been deployed for 48 days straight already. We need to replace them and give them some rest," NCRPO chief Police Major General Debold Sinas said.

"Hence, as always, we plead cooperation from the people of the Metro to please stay at home to make our common sacrifices worthwhile,” Sinas added.

Earlier, Sinas said more security forces in Metro Manila would be deployed following the government's decision to extend the enhanced community quarantine in the NCR and other high-risk areas until May 15.

Sinas had also planned to talk to the Philippine Army and the Philippine National Police's Special Action Force to ask for assistance in the additional deployment of security forces. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA News
